Missouri State University, US, announces admissions for ‘Masters of Science in Public Health ‘

Mumbai, November 15th, 2016 (GNI) :Missouri State University (MSU), long-established university of mid-west US, has invited applications for its Masters Program – Masters of Science in Public Health(MPH). The Missouri State University’s Master’s degree in Public Health prepares studentsfor a variety of jobs,leadership and advancement within chosen agency.Master’s degree in Public Health also equips students with the skills necessary for protecting the health of the community.
Elaborating on the program, Col (R) Stephen H Robinette, Associate Vice President – International Programs at Missouri State University said, “The goal of the Missouri State University Master of Public Health (MPH) program is to prevent disease, promote health, and protect the well-being of the public through education, research and service.
The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program consists of 42 semester hours and is tailored to meet the needs of individuals working in or planning to work in a public health profession.This program builds the foundation for careers in chronic disease prevention, environmental health, public safety and much more.Students in the program gain knowledge and skills in the five core areas basic to public health: biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health sciences, health services administration, and the social and behavioral sciences.

Who can apply?
Graduate Record Exam (GRE) test scores.Official scores from the GMAT from within the last 5 years may be submitted in lieu of the GRE.
Submission of the Graduate College application and related fee.
A 300-400 word personal statement of professional goals.
Three letters of recommendation from employers or professors (current or recent) who can speak to the abilities of the student to succeed in graduate education.
Voluntary or salaried work experience in one or more health or social service settings is highly desirable but not required.
Submission of TOEFL of 79 or 6.0 banded IELTS score in each component: reading, writing, listening and speaking official test score.

Date of commencement:
The session of the program will start in the first week of August 2017. Last date to submit completed applications is1stApril 2017.

Duration:
18 to 24months

Fee
The tuition fees for undergraduate courses are US $12000 and for graduate courses is US $10,000, per year.
