B2B Pavilion Buzzes with Chhattisgarh Summit, MOUs, and Sustainable Fashion on Day Two of GTTES 2025

MUMBAI, 25rd February, 2025 (GNI) : The Indian International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society) continues on its second day of the Global Textile Technology and Engineering Show (GTTES 2025) with a series of engaging and informative events at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai. The three-day event from 21st to 23rd February is a milestone event for the textile industry of India that began with traditional lamp lighting demonstrating technological progress and promoting global cooperation in the field of textile machinery.
Day two began with the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd Investment Summit in the B2B Pavilion which focused on attracting investments and fostering business opportunities in the textile sector, highlighting the potential of Chhattisgarh as a key player in the textile industry. The Pavilion hosted a series of meetings between domestic and international delegates, providing a great platform for networking, cooperation, and the establishment of new alliances. The event was a huge success in terms of providing a platform for interaction between domestic and global stakeholders, enhancing the global presence of India’s textile machinery industry.
The session was graced by esteemed members of the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Corporation Development, Mr. Praveen Shukla, Additional Director, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Limited, Ms. Diksha Purohit, Principal Consultant, CSIDC, and Mr. Gurjeet Bhatia, Principal Consultant, CSIDC. 
Starting the session of Day 2 of the event, Mr Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman and member of the steering committee of India International Textile Machinery Exhibitions said, “With the recent launch of the State’s new Industrial Development Policy 2024-2030, we believe this event will provide an excellent platform to align your vision with the thriving ecosystem of Chhattisgarh and unlock pathways to growth and collaboration. I hope the session delivers innovative thoughts on technological inventions and crafts and the vision for India’s rise in the textile machinery segment. I am sure this session will be a gift of knowledge in policy formation and strategy building and will act as an anchor for the textile sector’s growth.”
Praveen Shukla, Additional Director, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Limited said, “The textile sector is one of the key contributors to Chhattisgarh’s economy, with exports amounting to $35.9 billion over 24 years, contributing 2.3% to India’s GDP and 10.5% to national exports. Chhattisgarh is a power surplus state, supplying power to 13 other states, and providing uninterrupted power supply for businesses, a crucial factor for industrial growth. It is set to become the textile hub of tomorrow, with growing exports in cotton, silk, and man-made fabrics, and an upcoming textile park in Jangir Champa. With more than 25,000 MSMEs and over 1,400 DPIT-registered startups, Chhattisgarh is fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
The B2B Pavilion also signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between leading industry players such as the Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce. The MOUs were important collaborations that would promote innovation and development in the textile industry.
Murtuza Shabbir Arsiwala, Honourary Trade Commissioner of the Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce, said, “We do a lot of work in the Asia region as well as in the Middle East, and we have so far been successful in increasing bilateral trade, import-export, as well as assisting companies on both sides in terms of cross-border investments. I have not worked in the Apparel Sector, but every time I visit a different part of the world or take a delegation around, textiles are always there on the agenda. So, I look forward to working with your organization.”
The event also held many informative sessions and events on important industry issues in a joint initiative by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Textile Committee, HSNC, C4C SBI Foundation, and TISSER titled “Threads of Transformation,” which highlighted Post-consumer Textile Recycling focusing on sustainable methods in the textile industry, which supports over 200 Artisan cultures across 25+ states in India, preserving and promoting traditional crafts.
The second day of the event concluded with a Recycled, Upcycled & Sustainable Fashion Art & Fashion Show, a tribute to the incredible artistry and fusion of cultures, curated by artisans, showcasing innovative solutions to problems of textile wastage and appealing for sustainability throughout the fashion and textile industries.
B2B Pavilion acted as a hotbed of business interactions, an arena where professionals in the industry could network, seek out collaboration, and talk about future trends and possibilities in the textile industry. Activity filled the Pavilion, creating an atmosphere of partnership among industry stakeholders.
The Global Textile Technology & Engineering Show (GTTES 2025) remains a milestone event, uniting industry giants, innovators, and enthusiasts in the pursuit of textile technology and engineering of the future.
