Kokilaben Hospital Nurses Lead by Example in Breast Health Awareness Campaign

Mumbai, November 8, 2023 (GNI): Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Navi Mumbai, took a progressive leap in community health initiatives with its transformative Breast Health Awareness Campaign. This  endeavour spotlighted the an innovative skit performed by Kokilaben Hospital’s nursing team, demonstrating self-examination techniques and the life-saving importance of early cancer detection. This live demonstration allowed for immediate interaction and feedback that helped attendees gain a complete understanding of the self-examination process.

Over 70 participants engaged in this informative event with specialists from Kokilaben Hospital on November 5th. The experts included Dr. Tushar Jadhav, Consultant – Surgical Oncology, Dr. Pushpak Chirmade, Consultant – Medical Oncology, Dr. Bandita Sinha, Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr. Renuka Borisa, Consultant – Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Ms. Pratiksha Kadam, Consultant – Dietician, who gave a series of insightful talks along with interactive sessions. These sessions emphasized the critical role of regular self-examinations in the early identification of breast anomalies. 

Dr Bipin Chevale, Director and Head at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Navi Mumbai said, “Our commitment to raising awareness about the significance of early breast cancer detection is resolute. The array of initiatives at our hospital reflects our collective determination to conquer breast cancer. We firmly believe that knowledge is the first step towards empowerment, and through these endeavors we are geared towards empowering women to proactively manage their breast health, potentially saving lives through early detection”.

The highlight of the event was the creation of a human chain in the shape of a cancer ribbon, further reinforced by the symbolic release of pink balloons into the sky to demonstrate a shared commitment to triumph over breast cancer. Kokilaben Hospital further extended the outreach through special sessions across corporates, residential societies, and community centres, thereby taking the wellness initiative to the community.

The campaign concluded with the entire Kokilaben Hospital facade bathed in pink light, symbolising a visual pledge to continue the fight against breast cancer.ends GNI
