Mumbai, 21st May 2022 (GNI): “SELF PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY“, A solo self portrait photography exhibition by a talented artist, Shveta Gautam, displayed at Piramal Art Gallery, NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 from 20th to 22nd May 2022 between 12 noon to 8 pm. The unique concept of self portrait photography was the outcome of the numerous ideas of images mixed together in a strange way like in a dream portrait as conceived by Shveta Gautam. She worked on monochrome mode of photography which included negative and positive space in order to describe her identity as to how to visualize natural source of light. She has captured self-portraits that elaborate her as a creative person or a silent daydreamer with proper amalgamation of various hues. She got the inspiration for this from Frida Kahlo, Mexican Painter known for her self-portraits. As a result, she has presented the present series which says a lot about composition of light, self, stillness along with the emotions on her face that represent her inner self in apt arenas and perspectives of photography as a visual art.
