Maharashtra Governor pays tributes to the martyrs of Samyukta Maharashtra movement

MUMBAI, 21st November, 2019, (GNI): Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today visited the Hutatma Smarak in Mumbai and offered tributes to the martyrs of Samyukta Maharashtra movement.

The Governor placed a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial and stood in silence in memory of the martyrs who laid down their life in the agitation for Samyukta Maharashtra.  

Mayor of Mumbai Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, Additional Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte, Director General of Police, Maharashtra Subodh Jaiswal, Commissioner of Police Sanjay Barve and senior government officials also paid their respects at the Martyrs’ Memorial. It was on 21st of November in the year 1955, that people agitating peacefully were fired upon.ends

मुंबई, दि. 21 : मुंबईसह संयुक्त महाराष्ट्राच्या निर्मितीसाठी झालेल्या आंदोलनात शहीद झालेल्या 105 हुतात्म्यांना आज राज्यपाल भगत सिंह कोश्यारी यांनी हुतात्मा स्मारक येथे पुष्पचक्र अर्पण करुन  अभिवादन केले.

याप्रसंगी मुंबईचे महापौर विश्वनाथ महाडेश्वर, सामान्य प्रशासन विभागाचे अपर मुख्य सचिव सिताराम कुंटे, बृहन्मुंबई महापालिकेचे अतिरिक्त आयुक्त आबासाहेब जऱ्हाड, कोकण विभागाचे आयुक्त शिवाजी दौंड, पोलीस महासंचालक सुबोध कुमार जयस्वाल,  मुंबई शहरचे जिल्हाधिकारी शिवाजी जोंधळे, मुंबईचे पोलीस आयुक्त संजय बर्वे यांनीही यावेळी पुष्पचक्र वाहून हुतात्म्यांना अभिवादन केले.

यावेळी मंत्रालय, महापालिका, पोलीस विभाग, नौदलातील वरिष्ठ अधिकारी व कर्मचारी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते.ends
