CELEBRATED COUTURIERS SHANTNU AND NIKHIL PARTNER WITH REALME TO BRING SUSTAINABILITY TO THE FOREFRONT AT FDCI X LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK

New Delhi, 17 March, 2022 (GNI): realme, the world’s fastest growing smartphone brand has partnered with ace couturier duo, Shantnu and Nikhil to showcase environment friendly, innovative and sustainably driven design elements on Day 1 at the upcoming edition of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week in New Delhi.

Shantnu and Nikhil’s haute couture collection ‘Nomad’ will look at design as a responsibility and bring out a new side to the designer’s aesthetic through pieces that are soft, yet intense. Through the partnership with realme, the designers, who are known for their structured, regimental inspirations, are set to bring forth the beauty of iconic silhouettes and the strong spirit of the Neo-Indian. Through this collection, the designers aim to use the art of design to imagine a newer and a more hopeful future.

realme’s first-ever collaboration with acclaimed designers Shantnu and Nikhil at the country’s most prestigious fashion event demonstrates realme’s dedication to promote sustainable trends in product design and heritage. The realme design studio collaborated with Naoto Fukasawa once again to bring the industry’s first bio-based polymer Paper Tech Master Design, which is inspired by “The Future in Paper.” The realme GT 2 series, the company’s most premium flagship line-up to date, offers users environmentally friendly designs. This distinguishes the realme GT 2 series from its peers, as it is the ideal combination of art and environmental care, love, and commitment. With transformative designs and a sustainability strategy, this is a significant step forward in reinforcing realme’s position in the premium segment.

Commenting on the development, Madhav Sheth, CEO – realme India, Vice President – realme and President – realme International Business Group, said, “Since, realme’s inception we have strived to combine cutting-edge design with best-in-class technology in all of our products and with each new product, we’ve introduced something new to our users. With our partnership with Shantnu and Nikhil’s for FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week, we’re ushering in a new era of sustainable, eco-friendly design language.  Our realme GT 2 series brings industry-first bio-based polymer Paper Tech Master design for users supporting sustainability to its core for realme users. We are confident that this collaboration with Shantnu and Nikhil, celebrity designer duo known for their inspired and innovative designs will help us advance our sustainability approach in India.”

Commenting on the collaboration, Shantnu & Nikhil Said, “Returning to the ramps and the hustle of backstage after two years feels surreal, especially when FDCI and Lakmé Fashion Week are united to create this groundbreaking synergy. Our new collection “Nomad” which we will be showcasing, is a line-up that came together despite its inherent differences, just like our country does every day without fail. Being in association with the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand, realme, has only amped up the futuristic vision we look through via our collection. realme believes that materials can break design boundaries in all directions, which truly aligns with the design sensibilities Shantnu & Nikhil, as a brand reckons with Shantnu and Nikhil”, stated in the press release.
