Thane: 18th August 2021,Valvoline Cummins Private Limited (“Valvoline Cummins”) as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) in collaboration with a NGO – Habitat for Humanity, have started a 100-bed Covid Care Facility in Ambernath. The facility is a part of one of the renowned government hospitals in the vicinity, Dubey Hospital.
After an extensive amount of research, Valvoline Cummins concluded that the community residing in the area prefer to opt for government hospitals and close to 50% of the patients were visiting Dubey Hospital regarding their medical needs. As a responsible corporate citizen, Valvoline decided to support and after a detailed discussion with the CMO of Dubey Hospital, 100-bed facility was handed over to the hospital which are equipped with IV stands and oxygen concentrators. Along with this, the medical staff were also provided with PPS and Hygiene kits.
The event was attended by Mr. Sandeep Kalia, Managing Director, Valvoline Cummins, Dr Yogesh, Chief Medical Officer- Dubey Hospital, and Mr. John Mathew, Regional Director, Habitat for Humanity along with many other senior officials.
Mr. Sandeep Kalia, Managing Director, Valvoline Cummins acknowledged and appreciated the commitment of medical professionals in the fight against Covid and said “The medical fraternity has been valiantly fighting this battle for the last one and a half years. We firmly support and encourage their efforts. We intend to continuously work towards facilitating safer and better medical infrastructure through our various initiatives”. Mr. Gaurav Dang, Director Finance, Valvoline further added, “The community counts on doctors to save every precious life. Therefore, we would like to contribute in any way possible to support the medical community”
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr Yogesh, expressed his gratitude towards Valvoline Cummins for their generous gesture. He said “The center will help in treating the community of the area and be prepared for future. We believe that everyone deserves adequate healthcare and Valvoline Cummins is helping us achieve that”, stated in the press release.
In continuation to the efforts to support the country to fight against Covid-19, Valvoline Cummins has taken similar CSR initiatives in the cities of Gurgaon and Sonipat. The efforts extend pan-India where Valvoline and Habitat for Humanity have donated multiple Oxygen Concentrators, thermal scanners, oximeters and PPE Kits to Civil Hospital in Sonipat and Gurgaon.ends
