MUMBAI, May 21st, 2020 (GNI): Do you leave your lights on at night when you sleep? Then, why keep your motor insurance on, when it is not needed?
To answer the above and more questions like these, Edelweiss General Insurance (EGI), India’s first cloud native insurer, is proud to introduce Indian consumers to its latest app-based Motor OD floater policy, Edelweiss SWITCH – Driver Based Insurance. The policy is especially relevant in the current situation, where customers are looking to save all they can and pay only for what they are really consuming, this driver-based policy allows customers to switch their motor insurance on and off, as per requirement, and covers multiple vehicles/drivers under a single policy.
Launched on IGTV, with renowned YouTuber Faizal Khan, Edelweiss SWITCH promises to be an innovative solution, that offers customers a whole new way of protecting their cars, bikes or scooters! The policy is structured bearing evolving customer needs and is extremely relevant to what we consider a new normal. For example, given the current global crisis, most people currently have their cars just parked in garages, and why when you #DontUseDontPay.
In line with Edelweiss General Insurance’s digital philosophy, the insurer is leveraging all digital mediums effectively for the Edelweiss SWITCH launch campaign. Edelweiss SWITCH will be extensively engaging with customers and other stakeholders via Mailers, Videos, WhatsApp, SMSes, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, with the message #DontUseDontPay! This three-month outreach will be through simple and short videos, product demos, influencer activation and posts, aimed at encouraging customers to making the “SWITCH” to pay only for what they use.
Shanai Ghosh, ED & CEO, Edelweiss General Insurance, said, “At Edelweiss General Insurance, customers have always come first. Their needs and their feedback have been the cornerstones to how we structure our product offerings, to be relevant to what they need, at a time when they need it. In this context, Edelweiss SWITCH is extremely pertinent in today’s environment, where you may not end up using your vehicle regularly. So, if you don’t use, don’t pay for it.”
Edelweiss SWITCH uses a pay-as-you-use model, that allows the customer to pay the premium based on usage. In other words, customers can choose the vehicle to be insured, via an app, every time they use it. This will mean lower premiums for policyholders, who own more than one vehicle and the flexibility of paying premium on a monthly basis. Further, as the policy covers multiple vehicles in one, customers save significantly on cost and will find it more convenient to use. Edelweiss SWITCH has been developed to cover not just accidental damage, but also against fire and theft, 24×7.
