Thane, 1 October 2026 (GNI) : Renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Nilesh Potdar, Director of Mercury Hospital, Thane and surgeon at Galaxy Super speciality Hospital, has been awarded the prestigious Asia’s Modern Hero Award 2026 in Manila, Philippines. The award was presented on 25 September 2026 at Okada Manila by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) President Dr. Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. and Czech Republic Ambassador Mr. Karel Heytse.

Dr. Potdar is widely respected for his expertise in complex brain and spine surgeries and his pioneering work in precision neurological treatment. His hallmark technique, endoscopic spine surgery, allows operations through a small incision, reducing pain, blood loss, and helping patients return quickly to normal life.

This recognition comes after he was listed among “Top 10 Prominent Neurosurgeons” by Silicon India Healthcare in 2025, highlighting his consistent contribution to advanced neurosurgical care. Neurosurgery is considered one of the toughest branches of medicine, demanding years of training, quick decision-making, and constant innovation. Dr. Potdar’s success shows how modern technology and surgical skill together can deliver life-changing results.

Dr. Nilesh Potdar, Director of Mercury Hospital, Thane and Neurosurgeon at Galaxy Super speciality Hospital said,“Accurate treatment is my goal. This honour inspires me to do even better. “His dedication has not only brought pride to Mercure Hospital and Galaxy Super speciality Hospital but also strengthened access to advanced brain and spine care for patients in Thane and beyond. With compassion, precision, and innovation, Dr. Nilesh Potdar stands as an inspiration for the medical fraternity and a beacon of hope for patients across Asia.”ends GNI
