Pepperfry’s Padgha fulfilment centre is integral to its supply chain efficiency

Thane, 30 July 2022 (GNI): The Bhiwandi Padgha fulfilment centre is Pepperfry’s largest warehouse in India spanning across an area of 2,85,000 sq. ft., stacked with seven floors of furniture close to 52 feet high. This fulfilment center serves as a central hub for Pepperfry’s operations in the Western region of India.

The Padgha warehouse is equipped with state-of-the-art storage and logistics infrastructure, including an automated inventory management system that enables the company to better serve its ever-growing customer base in Mumbai and the surrounding areas. It is located close to major highways and transportation hubs, making it easy for customers to receive their orders. The Padgha facility is responsible for handling 60% of Pepperfry’s total traffic which amounts to around 2000 boxes per day.

Pepperfry’s overall supply chain business had a noteworthy performance during the period of July 2021 to June 2022 with 9.8 lakhs shipments delivered within 24 hours and less than 2% damage in transit. Pepperfry has been constantly focusing on reducing the delivery timelines & has successfully shortened the time taken to fulfil orders by 37% in the last 6 months.

Pepperfry has a big-box supply chain that intends to connect buyers and sellers in 500+ cities across the country. Pepperfry has over 17,000 products on its platform, and caters to 10,000 PIN codes. With 30+ distribution centres and 400+ last mile delivery trucks Pepperfry expects to continue driving customer delight. The hub and spoke model established by Pepperfry has helped reduce dependence on third-party logistics providers and bring down the cost per order, stated in the press release.
