National, 13th January, 2022 (GNI): ‘Gift of Sleep’ is a novel initiative by leading sleep solutions brand, Duroflex to provide uninterrupted restful sleep to underprivileged children as a gift for the New Year. The brand welcomed the year 2021 with this initiative, where they joined hands with The Better India to gift 365 mattresses to children in need. With an aim to end the year in the same spirit, they took the cause ahead by offering 547 sleep stations with mattresses and pillows to start 2022. The sleep stations were gifted to NGOs in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra to ensure the children get restful sleep for a hopeful tomorrow while also making sure they begin the year in a joyous spirit. Duroflex continued their association with philanthropy partner, The Better India for this unique initiative.
Sound sleep is integral for the growth and development of young minds. Hence, targeting children from 10-15 years of age, Duroflex donated to Shanti Bhavan Residential School in Hosur, Mauli Balak Ashram in Pune and After Care Home in Mumbai. In addition to giving quality sleep, the ‘Gift of Sleep’ initiative will also help in improving their overall wellbeing with better immunity, learning and memory. Duroflex also encouraged their customers to join in and make the gesture sweeter by sending in their wishes and collected those in their Experience Centers across India. These heartfelt wishes were then shared with the children along with their sleep stations.
Commenting on the activity, Smita Murarka, Chief Marketing Officer, Duroflex said, “An uninterrupted sleep of 8 hours is a basic need, more so for children. Through the ‘Gift of Sleep’ initiative, our goal is to provide these children, the future of our nation, with much needed restful sleep which is critical for their overall growth and development. As a business, Duroflex has always strived to do its bit for society. In 2021, they donated over 3,000 mattresses towards COVID and flood relief work across the country including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi, Vellore, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan throughout the year, stated in the press release.
