BVG India awarded contract of Chambal Riverfront to Develop a Destination for Sustainable Urban Living and Tourism

Pune, India, 21st September 2026 (GNI) : BVG India Limited has been entrusted with the integrated development and beautification of two destinations along the Chambal Riverfront the Chambal Garden Redevelopment Project and Bhitaria Kund Garden in Rajasthan. Together, these projects represent a step towards creating public spaces that are intended to promote tourism, preserve heritage, strengthen environmental sustainability and enhance the quality of urban life.
Across India, riverfronts are emerging as catalysts for urban regeneration. More than recreational spaces, they are becoming public destinations that are intended to foster community engagement, improve biodiversity, strengthen local economies and reconnect people with nature. The Chambal Riverfront projects are intended to reflect this evolving vision of creating greener, more liveable and people-centric cities.
Reimagining Chambal Garden Spread across approximately 22 acres, the Chambal Garden Redevelopment Project is expected to act as a recreational and tourism destination offering immersive experiences for residents and visitors alike.
The redevelopment is expected to feature landscaped promenades, gazebos, artificial water bodies, a Laxman Jhula-inspired suspension bridge, a panoramic Glass Bridge, projection mapping with an immersive light and sound show, restaurants, children’s play zones, adventure activity areas, a Yoga Park, a Miyawaki Urban Forest, modern parking facilities, architecturally designed entrance gates and comprehensive landscaping and lighting.
Designed around the principles of sustainability and community well-being, the project is intended to create an engaging public destination where recreation, wellness and nature coexist.
Preserving the Heritage of Bhitaria Kund
Spread across approximately 8 acres, Bhitaria Kund Garden is home to an ancient Lord Shiva Temple of historical and spiritual value.
The project is intended to focus on conserving the temple and restoring traditional stone carvings while enhancing the surrounding landscape through improved pathways, visitor amenities, gardens and environmentally sensitive public spaces. The objective is to potentially preserve the site’s cultural legacy while enriching the visitor experience.
Building Sustainable Public Spaces
The projects are intended to align with India’s broader sustainability agenda, including Mission LiFE, Swachh Bharat Mission and the growing focus on climate-resilient and resource-efficient urban infrastructure. Through native landscaping, green spaces, biodiversity enhancement and environmentally conscious design, the developments are expected to create public ecosystems that deliver lasting environmental and social value.
BVG India is obligated to provide end-to-end execution and integrated project management for both developments, covering planning support, civil works, landscape development, heritage restoration, infrastructure creation and delivery of modern public amenities.
