Hyderabad, September 20, 2022 (GNI): A panel of experts gathered recently for a discussion on “AI, ML and IoT for Social Good” hosted by the IEEE Regional 10 Humanitarian Technologies Conference at HICC Hyderabad. It covered among others, technologies that enable disaster management, smart cities, agriculture, healthcare, data protection and privacy, new age education, and ethics in AI.

Sridhar Seshadri, CEO & Co-Founder, Spotflock Technologies Private Limited, a deep tech company which specializes in AI, machine learning, and natural language processing, talked about healthcare, AI and ethics, how biases play in AI model creation. And how Spotflock trusts the government with policy making as there are a lot of good initiatives taken by the govt in supporting startup.

He further added that, “To facilitate the development of innovative solutions, and to help the disadvantaged that are being left behind by technological advances, technology companies need new ideas from startups with different perspectives to make more tech-for-social good technology accessible to more people.”

Sridhar has worked earlier in CognitiveScale, Facebook and EA Sports. His experience covers developing technology and product development leveraging Machine Learning, NLP, Social, Mobile, Blockchain, & Cloud.

Venkatesh, Sr. Director of Engineering at Silicon Labs, Hyderabad, coming in through its acquisition of Redpine Signals, a wireless IoT company, and also an active volunteer with IEEE Hyderabad Section moderated the session. Other panelists included Varma Konala who has been with Intel for 25 years and is now on deputation, as CEO, to INAI – the Applied AI research centre in IIIT-H, besides Kamal Jain, VP of Engineering and Country Head of Blaize – an AI processor chip and solutions company with a California HQ and a Hyderabad centre, stated in the press release..
