Ms Anita Ramachandran joins the Board of Blue Star Limited as Independent Director

Mumbai, 14th June 2022 (GNI): The Board of Directors of Air Conditioning and Commercial Refrigeration major Blue Star Limited has appointed Ms Anita Ramachandran (Anita), a well-known HR expert in the country, as an Independent Director for a term of 5 consecutive years with effect from June 13, 2022. She will also be a member of the Nomination & Remuneration Committee and the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.

Anita has over 40 years of experience as management consultant. She is also one of the first generation of women professionals to become an entrepreneur and run a highly successful HR consulting and services organization.

After commencing her career in the Management Consultancy division of AF Ferguson & Co in Mumbai in 1976 as the first woman consultant in the firm, Anita worked in a wide range of areas from industrial market research, strategy, and human resources consulting in various parts of the country, in a successful career spanning 19 years. She was finally a director of the firm.

In 1995, Anita founded Cerebrus Consultants to focus on HR advisory services, including Organization Transformation. Her reputation and innovative work helped her build Cerebrus into a national presence. Cerebrus was part of the Towers Perrin network of companies for 12 years. Cerebrus has over the last 26 years worked with over 800 companies in South Asia on a wide variety of HR projects covering Organisation design, Organization transformation, Rewards and Leadership development. Cerebrus has a large portfolio of work in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka besides India. Anita is known as an authority in Rewards Management in the country and her work in the compensation and rewards area is well recognized. Apart from being a strategic advisor to many family groups, Anita works with several PE firms and startups to mentor them through their growth journey.

Anita has been an Independent Director on the Boards of companies for the last 20 years and has in this capacity been associated with a wide range of industries. She is currently on the Board of several reputed companies such as Grasim, Metropolis Healthcare, Happiest Minds, FSN E-Commerce, Rane Madras, Aditya Birla Housing Finance, Godrej & Boyce, Kotak Life Insurance, and Essel Mining and Industries Limited. Anita has also been earlier on the boards of UTI, IDFC Asset Management, Utkarsh SFB in the financial sector, HCL, HCL Infosystems, and Force Motors.
