Mumbai, 4 December 2023 (GNI): Skechers, The Comfort Technology Company™, today announced that the global brand has opened Phase 1 of its new state-of-the-art National Distribution Center (NDC) in Palava City near Dombivli in Maharashtra, and has begun shipping to its extensive nationwide retail network in India. The newly built 650-square-meter facility is capable of efficiently shipping up to 60,000 pairs per day and will interface with Skechers’ direct-to-consumer channel and its headquarters in Mumbai as well as the United States.

Commenting on the Center’s launch, David Weinberg, chief operating officer of Skechers said, “The establishment of the Skechers National Distribution Center stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment and confidence in the Indian market. The National Distribution Channel located at Lodha Industrial and Logistics Park is planned to expand to 1,000 square meters in the coming two years, increasing its capacity from 4 million pairs presently to 7 million pairs annually. Designed as an IGBC Platinum pre-certified leader with certification pending, the facility also includes many ESG features, including energy-reducing sensor-based lighting. Solar panels will be installed in the first quarter of next year. Future automated technologies will include inbound, outbound and sortation capabilities.
