HSNC University’s H.R. College Hosts Spectacular 2nd Edition of Shaan – A Sindhi Inter-Collegiate Festival

Mumbai, 28th November 2023 (GNI): HSNC University’s Lead College is H.R. College of Commerce and Economics recently hosted a Sindhi intercollegiate festival SHAAN for four days from 21st to 24th of November, 2023. The Sindhi society of the college in collaboration with Maharashtra state Sindhi Sahitya Academy, Mumbai hosted the 2nd edition of Shaan – A Sindhi Inter-Collegiate Cultural Festival, held over 4 days. Students from 8+ colleges participated in SHAAN to compete for the ultimate prize.

SHAAN Involved various activities such as “Umeed” – A social initiative to provide aid to the marginalised communities of Ulhasnagar, as our students believe in upliftment of weaker sections of the society.

SHAAN 2023 kick-started with its inauguration ceremony, where Dr. Kishu Mansukhani, former President of HSNC Board and Dr. Bhagwan Balani, Registrar HSNC University, graced the ceremony and this earmarked the celebration of 75 years of HSNC Board on 21st November which was followed by the events such as “Naqsh” a drawing event,

“Kho-Kho”, Sport event, “Socho Socho” quiz event, “Shaan Premier League” a cricket event, “Dhandho Paani” Business and marketing event, “Adh Bhacha” – an adventurous treasure hunt event.

The Final and the most anticipated day of Shaan witnessed mesmerising acts by the contingents with “Natak”, (Sindhi play) “Rakh Sandliya Teh Per” (Sindhi Dance) and “Hik Son Jo Rupayo” (Sindhi Fashion Show).

The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Hon. Provost of HSNC University, which added more shine to the event. It was a moment of pride to have Sindhi Stalwarts and members from Maharashtra Sindhi Sahitya Academy with head Mr. Mahesh Sukhramani, Mr.Ram Jawhrani , Mr. Raju Khetwani, Mr.Raju Jagiasi,  Mr. Vinod Talreja, Mr. Ladharam Nagwani, Ms. Heena Shadadpuri, Ms. Sandhya kundnani, Ms kajal Ramchandani, Ms shobha bhambani, Ms.Jyoti Jhangiani Mr.Lal Tanwani, Ms. Roshni Tolani, Mr. Kamlesh Kapoor, Mr. Mohit Karira, Mr Krishu Sharma. The Event had special performance by famous Sindhi Singer Raj Juriani, Kamlesh Kapoor and great grandson of Sindhi Maestro Master Chander.

Judges for Dance, Fashion Show, Business Events, and Drama events included Jacky Raghani, Jeetendra Vazirani, Vijay Kewalramani, Muskan Gambhir, Lal Tanwani. With a huge footfall of over 1200 people, Shaan’23 made history as Mumbai’s grand Sindhi Intercollegiate Sindhi festival till date.

Dr. Pooja Ramchandani Principal HR College emphasized that with new education policy coming we should encourage programs in regional languages and HR College being Sindhi minority institution is committed to promoting Sindhi language and culture among today’s youth.
