~The winning label ‘Two Point Two’ by designer Anvita Sharma gets the opportunity to showcase her collection at the upcoming on-ground event in New Delhi~
National, 9th March 2022 (GNI): Sinceitsinception two seasons ago, ‘NEXA presents The Spotlight’ has given talented designers the opportunity to showcase their work at FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week. In its third edition this season, the program, after a competitive selection process has announced label ‘Two Point Two’ by designer Anvita Sharma, as the winner.
Participating designers presented their collections along with the idea and concept of their fashion film through a virtual presentation to an esteemed jury of industry experts. The winning designer has been given a gratification to showcase her collection at the on-ground edition of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week being held between 23-27th March 2022.
The jury that was part of the selection process comprised of Shashank Srivastava – Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited; Ram Suresh Akella – Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited; Rahul Khanna of RGRK –Designer; Kamna Malik – Editor, Elle India; Sunil Sethi – Chairman FDCI and Jaspreet Chandok – Head, RISE Fashion & Lifestyle.
Commenting on the initiative Shashank Srivastava – Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “We are delighted to be once again partnering with FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week to present the third edition of ‘NEXA presents The Spotlight’. This edition is even more special as we will be giving the winning designer the opportunity to put up a live showcase for the first time. Anvita’s entry stood out from amongst all the participants as she emerged the winner for the 3rd edition. Her work is inspired by the metamorphosis of one’s identity through the challenging times we all witnessed and inspiring people with the importance of camaraderie. Anvita’s collection titled ‘Behind Closed Doors’ is inspired by the chaos that is born when the true self emerges. Her winning presentation was about the state of reflection that the pandemic brought out when humans were confined at home, the selfless nature of humans that came to light at the end of the pandemic. How, in the midst of turmoil, humans realized the value of camaraderie and had a leaning towards altruism. Her collection is an ode to that very faith and a reminder that hope, compassion, solidarity and above all love exists.
