Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Launches CREDAI Awaas App: Touts Virtual Home Buying as Future of the Realty Sector

Mumbai, 31st July 2020 (GNI): To facilitate and ease the process of safe home buying, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs publicly launched “CREDAI Awaas App” and NAREDCO’s online portal “HousingforAll.com”. The launch was done at a webinar today by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister Housing and Urban Affairs & Civil Aviation. The initiative aims to provide a credible platform for prospective home buyers and help them interact with developers directly.

CREDAI Awaas App is India’s largest residential project discovery online platform through which buyers will be able to virtually explore and experience the projects from 220 cities across the country.  The app aims to facilitate transparent home buying in India of RERA approved projects by CREDAI developers.

Benefits of CREDAI Awaas App:

–          Supports Government of India in their efforts to ease the process of buying a home

–          Protects home buyers interest by bringing them on a common platform with credible developer members of CREDAI, thereby avoiding middlemen and ensuring transparency in transactions

–          Improved trust between developers and homebuyers.

–          Help establish a transparent ecosystem for real estate sector and spread awareness and information amongst buyers, developers, RERA members, and all stakeholders such as builders and financiers on a single platform.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, “We are happy that CREDAI and NAREDCO have launched the CREDAI Awaas App and Housingforall.com portal. This is a significant milestone for home-buying.  The launch of affordable housing Complex is a very significant step in achieving Honorable PM Modi’s vision of Housing for all by 2022.”

Jaxay Shah, Chairman, CREDAI National, said “Proptech is the future of Real Estate and initiatives like the CREDAI Awaas App will be instrumental in bridging the hiatus between the customer and developer in the coming days. The significant feature of the app is that the dream of buying a home remains a click away and one can simultaneously connect with developers across India.”

Elaborating on the launch of CREDAI Awaas app, Satish Magar, President, CREDAI National, said “The unprecedented COVID 19 crisis has made people realize the importance of homes and also that real estate remains the safest investment option. The launch of AWAAS App by CREDAI is one of many such initiatives to bring transparency and improve trust between developers and home buyers by harnessing the power of technology. This will be an experiential and interactive platform and buyers will now be able to view complete information about the property which will allow them to take an informed decision thus creating a smooth virtual home-buying experience.”

Speaking further on this initiative, Boman R. Irani, Vice President, CREDAI National, said “With the launch of ‘CREDAI Awaas App’, the mechanism of home buying will be more transparent and interactive. Both developers and buyers are actively looking for technology platforms that will provide a holistic and hassle free experience. As an apex body of the real estate sector, we are determined to strengthen our approach to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and assist our buyers and developers in every way possible. The launch of the app is just one step closer to bring a transformation in the sector”

MOHUA had directed Real Estate Associations – CREDAI & NAREDCO at the 3rd RERA Conclave held at Lucknow in 2019 to launch online  project discovery platforms which would be RERA regulated and would help the sector be more proficient when it comes to home buying. The CREDAI Awaas app will aid developers in selling their finished projects faster and improve home buyer’s sentiment at large. CREDAI is committed to spearhead Indian Realty’s growth by embracing technological advancements.
