MUMBAI, 23rd September 2019, (GNI): Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs & Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Mr. Arjunram Meghwal inaugurates the solo art exhibition of Gopal Vyas, a renowned painter who started his journey at Shanti Niketan and now completes 50 golden years in the field of painting. Singer Anup Jalota and businessman Punam Kularia (MD of BNP Interior) graced the occasion as special guests. The solo art exhibition of Gopal Vyas is going to be displayed at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai from 23rd to 29th September.

In this solo exhibition that is going to be displayed at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, Gopal Vyas is displaying both his tangible and abstract paintings. He is showcasing portrait paintings of people who have inspired him in his colourful journey – Mahatma Gandhi (150th birth anniversary), Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, singer Pandit Jasraj, Charlie Chaplin, Dharmendra, Dev Anand, Madhubala, Merlin Monroe and social worker Sant Dularam Kularia and many others.

Gopal Vyas says, “In this exhibition you will see the portraits of many leaders, artists, singers, writers, poets, etc. You will get a chance to see my journey in these 50 years as to who all have influenced me, what all I learnt from them; what I saw in this colorful life; how I used colours on canvas that straight away came from my heart etc. You will also see different colors and their significance in life. Colours used in abstract art can do wonders to patients. Through colours, we can bring positivity in others’ life and problems such as depression can be fought easily.  Colours have their own importance, they have their own different life. Few colours give us happiness, while some give us satisfaction. Vastu and planets are also associated with colours and through that method, colours are selected and paintings are made which is in demand these days.“

On completion of 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, Vyas paid tribute through his work of colours. Along with this, Vyas is also inspired by heart winner of Indians, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has also painted his magnificent personality on canvas through his colour.  Nobody is as great as Charlie Chaplin in the art industry of the world, without even speaking a single word, he could make people laugh. Similarly, Gopal Vyas’ paintings make you feel all the aspects of life.  You will also get to see portraits of Devanand, Dharmendra, Madhubala from Indian Cinema.

Gopal Vyas was born in the Bikaner city of Rajasthan in 1954. He has received numerous awards for his talent. He studied in Shanti Niketan near Kolkata and from there his journey of paintings and passion with colors continued. He has displayed his paintings in many countries. In his paintings, he prefers routine life, nature and contemporary topics.  In his abstract paintings, he seems close to nature and uses blend of colours from Rajasthan, which is famous for being a colourful state. Both central government and state government have presented him awards and have motivated him. In 2017, he received Rajasthan state government award from Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje. Central Minister Arjunram Meghwal, Dr. Mahesh Sharma and five Member of Parliaments recommended him for Padma Shri in 2017.ends
