MUMBAI, (GNI): Day Four at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019 ended with the elegant collection from the Raghavendra Rathore Jodhpur brand presented by NEXA. Inspired by the fashionably, angular, sleek, lines of the NEXA, Raghavendra’s ensembles were a study in extreme creativity, along with minute detailing and a show stopping appeal.
Talking about the association Mr. R. S. Kalsi Sr. Executive Director, Marketing & Sales Maruti Suzuki commented, “NEXA is an exciting experience of innovation and excellence. We are the creators of new, ever-evolving, always inspiring. This NEXA experience finds its true expression in the indelible mark left by the creators of fashion, at the Lakmé Fashion Week. Our association this season with the iconic Raghavendra Rathore personifies the elegance that comes with NEXA. The NEXA collection, which borrows its colour palette from the NEXA design language, is a creation that inspires an exclusive and premium lifestyle. With a predominant use of silk and natural yarns, NEXA lifestyle has once again challenged the status quo by bringing about a collection which is both sustainable and luxurious. The New Ciaz was created with same thought in mind. With its new smart hybrid engine which exudes sustainability, and elegant looks and indulgent interiors which defines luxury, this car is made to inspire the creator in you.”
Speaking about the collection Raghavendra Rathore, profile designer said, “Nexa is inspiring artists and supporting the creative community, to wake up to a new India of possibilities. A symphony of artisanal values, our heritage, and our rich cultural roots brings together a collection that is called “An Ode To The Bandhgala”, The Indianization of Fashion, where primitive values connect with a modern expression of fashion”
Keeping the values and the sleek lines of the NEXA models in mind, Raghavendra’s experiments with extensive craftsmanship were breath taking on the ramp that paid tribute with “An Ode To The Bandhgala”. For Raghavendra it was also the iconic NEXA shapes that drove his design direction to create a collection that had both aesthetics as well as style.
Elegance and style merged in Raghavendra Rathore’s collection presented by NEXA at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019.
Designed for evening and formal wear options the shade card inspired by NEXA colour tones was a mix of Nexa Blue, black, ivory and charcoal grey that created a very distinct fashion statement that matched the DNA of the Raghavendra Rathore Jodhpur brand.
The designer’s famed Bandhgalas exhibited detailing, surface treatment and creativity that offered a fresh appeal when it came to dressing up. The women’s and men’s ensembles were in complete unison, which has been the signature quality of Raghavendra’s collections.
Using exclusive hand-woven textiles along with fabric developments with prominent use of silk and natural yarns the unconventional silhouettes definitely redefined the timeless styling by the designer. Formal suits and bundgalas made a regal entry, while women’s wear had an emphatic appeal with its construction and elegance.
Opening the show with a white embroidered ladies Bandhgala jacket, Raghavendra followed them with three versions of the jackets with flouncy mini skirts.
Soon the women’s wear was a feast for eyes, as numerous black jackets in different lengths with the most exquisite embroidery appeared on the catwalk. Long frothy or slim skirts some with trains, were a great offering.
Men’s wear created an impact with textured sherwanis and white waistcoat, printed kurtas under bundgalas and one- button, narrow-lapelled jackets with peaked lapels. Shawl collars appeared for tuxedos in satin or suiting material. For more formal wear alternatives, Raghavendra brought in a grand black sherwani embellished with white fine thread work.
Making a show stopping entry was Bollywood’s latest darling, Jahnvi Kapoor who glided in a layered, flouncy black, long skirt teamed with an exquisitely designed tone-on-tone, black, embroidered jacket and shimmering bralet.
But the show came to a riotous end when super star Anil Kapoor, rocked down the ramp looking truly dapper and very handsome in a black embellished Bundi over black kurta and trousers.
For ultra-glam opulence, “The Ode To The Bandhgala” by Raghavendra Rathore Jodhpur 2019 and presented by NEXA was the ideal offering for that festive resort wear soirée, as well as a celebration of the reinvented Bandhgala with timeless designing.ends
