MUMBAI, (GNI): Maharashtra Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao and State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis placed wreaths and saluted the police martyrs at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Mumbai on Sunday.
The Salutation Ceremony was organised by the Mumbai Police to pay tributes to the police offers, jawans and commandos of NSG who laid down their lives during the terrorist attacks on Mumbai 9 years ago.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Employment Ramdas Athawale, Maharashtra’s Minister for Education Vinod Tawde, Minister of State Deepak Kesarkar, MLA Raj Purohit, MLC Bhai Jagtap, Chief Secretary Sumit Mullick, Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Srivastava, Director General of Police Satish Mathur, Commissioner of Police, Brihan Mumbai Datta Padsalgikar and family members of martyred police officers and police personnel also paid tributes at the Martyrs’ Memorial. Veterans police officers J F Ribeiro, Ramdeo Tyagi, M N Singh, Ronny Mendonca and others were present on the occasion.
The Police Band played the Last Post and Rouse on the occasion.
