Wockhardt Hospital conducted “I am fearless” Women Safety campaign
150 female staff from Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road pledged for parity observing International Women’s Day
THANE, MUMBAI, (GNI): Considering gender violence is rampant everywhere with rising cases of sexual assault, molestation, murder and kidnapping, self-defense for women is of utmost importance. Being a responsible corporate, Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road put a foot forward and observed International Women’s Day this year with “I am fearless” campaign, by training female work force in self-defense techniques today on the occasion of International Women’s Day The self defence training was given by safety-in-charge officers i.e. Women police officers- Self-defense for the women, by the women!
The one hour training program also included a pledge- ‘Pledge for Parity’ after which Wockhardt hospital shared the “I am fearless” – Wockhardian Brave Medal with female Wockhardians. This inculcated a feeling of power within each of them making them stronger & fearless 150 female staff from Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road gets Self-defencetraining from Women police officer on International Women’s Day.
Ravi Hirwani, Centre Head Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road said, “A large number of women work round the clock in the hospital premises. On International Women’s day, “I am fearless” campaign is a step to ensure their safety. We are happy to carry out such initiatives which make them strong both mentally and physically. I thank the police officers on behalf of my team for giving us their valuable time, defense techniques & thoughts.”
Dr. Sarita Channawar, Gynecologist, who got trained in this campaign expressing her thoughts said, “Self-defense is mandatory today for every woman, every girl. Ignoring things doesn’t help but fighting back does. I hope this “I am fearless”campaign and training has helped to get confidence to fight back.”
